Top 3 US Destinations For Beaches In 2023

The sun is shining, the temperature is ramping up and you’re looking for a wonderful beach holiday. Dozens of countries around the world boast great beaches, but we thought we’d look at the US specifically. If you live here, it’s an opportunity for a brilliant staycation. Also, trips to the US are rising, so we know it’s a popular tourist destination – particularly during the summer.

Focusing on that, we’ve picked the top three US destinations for beaches in 2023:

Florida

The entire state of Florida is unarguably the number one place to go for gorgeous beaches in the US. Most people instantly think of places like Miami or Tampa as having the best beaches here. However, Sarasota is the place you should go for the absolute best beach experience in Florida.

It is simply stunning, with loads of sublime beaches littering its shoreline. You will find Sarasota transportation very quickly as there are plenty of local train stations and airports with direct shuttle links to the area. It’s a calm place with pristine sandy beaches and views across the Gulf of Mexico.

Nags Head

Nags Head is a small town in North Carolina that’s rapidly making a name for itself as a top tourist destination. Why? Because of its gorgeous beaches. Located on the East Coast, the Nags Head beach is 11 miles long and has massive sand dunes with a beautiful state park nearby

The houses along the beach are so colourful and vibrant, adding to an idyllic setting. It’s a great place to go if you love surfing, but the soft sand makes it an ideal place to go if you just love lying down and baking in the sun. It’s a pretty well-known place, but nowhere near as popular as Florida, so expect this to be just a tad quieter.

Ocean City

Head on over to Maryland and you will find the delightful resort town of Ocean City. As the name suggests, it lies right next to the ocean, with miles of beaches and things to do. The weather here is gorgeous, while the sea is a turquoise blue colour that always dazzles you. It’s such a fun place to go, particularly as the entire area feels like an ’80s-themed party.

This isn’t done artificially – it’s just that Ocean City decided to keep all of its hotels and buildings in the ‘80s style. And they look fantastic, so why would you ever bother changing it? Honestly, this is a beach to visit if you want to feel like you’ve been transported back in time to an old ‘80s Hollywood flick.

The US is a massive country with beaches up and down its gigantic coastline. Unsurprisingly, most of the well-known beaches are in Florida, but you can explore other places too. If you’re trying to pinpoint your dream vacation spot this summer, perhaps one of the three locations on this list will give you inspiration. They’re certainly ideal if all you care about is a lovely beach and some hot sun beating down on you.
